How Our Tools Work

FreeWebTools operates on a fundamental principle: all file processing happens in your browser using JavaScript. When you:

• Convert images to PDF
• Compress a PDF file
• Convert Markdown to PDF
• Use any of our tools

...everything happens on your computer. Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers. Once you close the browser tab, your files are gone from our tools entirely.

What We Don't Collect

• Your files - We never see, access, or store any files you process
• File contents - We have no way to read what's in your documents
• Personal information - No accounts, no registration, no email collection
• Usage data about your files - We don't track what you convert or compress

Analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our website. This helps us improve the user experience. Clarity collects:

• Page views and navigation patterns
• Click and scroll behavior
• Device and browser information
• General location (country/region level)

Clarity does not:

• Collect personally identifiable information (PII)
• Track you across other websites
• Access or record file contents

Consent Management: To comply with GDPR and ePrivacy regulations, we use a centralized consent mechanism managed by Google AdSense and Google Tag Manager (GTM). Tracking cookies are only activated for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland after explicit, affirmative consent for 'analytics storage' has been provided via our on-site consent banner.

Advertising

We display ads through Google AdSense to support the free operation of our tools. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites.

Note that even with personalized ads disabled:

• Google AdSense still requires basic cookies to function
• Non-personalized ads may still be shown
• Your file data is never shared with advertisers

FreeWebTools itself does not set any cookies. However, third-party services we use may set cookies:

Data Storage

We do not maintain any databases of user data. Our website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Standard web server logs may temporarily record:

• IP addresses
• Browser type
• Pages visited
• Timestamps

These logs are used for security and debugging purposes and are automatically deleted according to Cloudflare's data retention policies.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we don't require accounts or collect personal information, there is no mechanism for children to provide data to us.
