The Story

FreeWebTools was born out of frustration. Every time I needed a simple tool to convert an image to PDF, compress a file, or do some quick formatting - I'd find myself on websites that demanded sign-ups, email addresses, or wanted me to upload my files to their servers.

It felt wrong. Why should I create yet another account just to convert a few images? Why should my files leave my computer for such a simple task?

So I built FreeWebTools to scratch that itch - and to help others who feel the same way.

Our Mission

To provide free, high-quality tools that:

  • Respect your privacy - All processing happens in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
  • Don't require sign-ups - Just open and use. No accounts, no emails, no hassle.
  • Work fast - Lightweight tools that get the job done without bloat.
  • Are completely free - Sustained by non-intrusive ads, nothing more.

100% Client-Side

Every tool on FreeWebTools runs entirely in your browser. When you convert an image, compress a PDF, or use any of our tools - everything happens on your computer.

We don't see your files. We don't store your files. We can't access your files. That's by design, not by policy.

The Technology

FreeWebTools is built with:

  • Astro - A modern static site generator for fast, lightweight pages
  • Vanilla JavaScript - No bloated frameworks, just clean, efficient code
  • Open-source libraries - Like pdf-lib, PDF.js, and marked for the heavy lifting
  • Cloudflare Pages - For fast, reliable hosting

Sustainability

Running a website costs money. Instead of charging for tools or locking features behind paywalls, we display non-intrusive ads to cover hosting and development costs.

We believe in keeping the tools free and accessible while being transparent about how we sustain the service.
